# GPT 6 Sol

> GPT 6 model balancing intelligence and cost for coding and agentic workflows.

<Info>
  For the newer [GPT 6.1 Sol](/model-api/openai/gpt-6.1-sol), use `gpt-6.1-sol`. It does not support `none`/`minimal`, and function calling requires Responses. The settings below apply only to `gpt-6-sol`.
</Info>

GPT 6 model balancing intelligence and cost for coding and agentic workflows.

## Model Information

| Field | Description |
| - | - |
| `model` | gpt-6-sol |
| `context` | 1,050,000 tokens |
| `max output` | 128K tokens |
| `endpoint` | POST /v1/responses |

Context and output sizes describe the model specification. Effective request limits, availability, and billing depend on the MixRoute route.

## Capabilities and Usage

* Accepts text and images and produces text.
* reasoning.effort supports none, low, medium, high, xhigh, and max. Prefer Responses for workflows combining reasoning and function tools.

## Request Example

Set `MIXROUTE_API_KEY` before making the request.

```bash theme={null}
curl --request POST "https://api.mixroute.ai/v1/responses" \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $MIXROUTE_API_KEY" \
  --header "Content-Type: application/json" \
  --data '{
  "model": "gpt-6-sol",
  "input": "Explain the tradeoffs of database indexes.",
  "reasoning": {
    "effort": "low"
  },
  "max_output_tokens": 1024,
  "store": false
}'
```

## Request Fields

| Field | Description |
| - | - |
| `model` | Required. Use the exact model ID above. |
| `input` | Required input text or Responses input items. |
| `reasoning.effort` | Reasoning effort, using the model-specific values described above. |
| `max_output_tokens` | Budget for generated output, including reasoning tokens. |
| `store` | Whether to store the response. This example disables storage. |
